Kaftan Hotel - Istanbul

The apartment was cozy, and it reminded me of a perfect retreat after our city adventures. The hospitality was great. Plus, the location was ideal, just a quick walk to famous sights like the blue mosque.

The Kaftan Hotel has an excellent location, an easy walk to the Blue Mosque, close to restaurants and on a very quiet street for such a central location. Transfer from and to the airport went smoothly and the staff was very friendly. Free wifi and the use of a computer in the lobby. Our room was small but adequate.

The guys who run the Kaftan are friendly and reasonably helpful. However, the infrastructure is starting to go. Airconditioning was centrally controlled and that didn't work smoothly. We lost hot water one day, they took care of it right away, but we then needed to spend 20 precious vacation minutes waiting to shower. The place could have been cleaner. I wonder how frequently management inspects the rooms. The "double" bed was two singles side-by-side and made up as one. This was okay, except the sheet and blanket were single-size and so not wide enough. And the cold breakfast buffet could use some warm additions.

Room size felt cramped, noise levels during morning cleaning and repairs were highly disruptive!!! It would be nice to see more consistent maintenance of room facilities and an improvement in the cleanliness of common areas!!!

The staff were so friendly and cheerful. The room was simple, but clean, and I found it to be a good value for the money. The location was great - on a quaint side street and very close to the major sights.

Its not luxurious, but if you want that you have to pay more.

The location is perfect in the middle of Sultanahmet in a street not too noisy. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is very nice, with fresh food. The hotel has an enjoyable top-floor terrace where having breakfast. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, it arranged for us the transfer to the airport and the dervish show.

Perfect for groups looking for comfort

The staff were friendly, like I knew them for years! They helped us find great places to eat near the hotel and even organized our transport at a solid price.

It wasn't cheap, but totally reasonable for what we got.

Pleasant and perfectly clean place, relaxing view of the sea. Genuinely helpful and incredibly attentive staff at the second request, brand-new budget room. Lots of facilities such as: an individual safe, climate control and an iron. Good dishes, touristic location near to everything. And near to the center, old part of istanbul, the bus station, and different cafes and restos.

Nice hotel, near the main attractives in Sultanahmet. Easy to reach in tram and metro.

A little bit noisy

The super nice team, and the breakfast was awesome with a fine view. We visited Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, all within walking distance. Perfect for exploring. The cozy rooms and great local dining options made it nice.

We did face a little issue with the bathroom floor not draining properly, but that got sorted out the following day.

The units are functional, brand-new. The beds are comfortable to sleep on.
